2023, A Year Of Opportunities

As we approach the end of the year 2023, it is the perfect moment for the Falcon Memorial Cancer Institute (FMCI) to look back on what has been a truly remarkable year. This year has been filled with accomplishments and impactful awareness campaigns, all aimed at furthering the goals and mission of our esteemed NGO.

Throughout the year, our dedicated team has diligently worked towards achieving the association’s objectives: to make a meaningful difference in the lives of cancer’s patients. From organizing community events to raising funds for important causes, each attempt has been met with enthusiasm and a deep sense of purpose.

One of the highlights of this year was the successful completion of our awareness campaigns on different types of cancer. Through various initiatives and collaborations, we have been able to shed light on critical issues and foster a greater understanding among the public of the most common types of cancer in Mauritius and the best ways to prevent them. Our efforts have not only raised awareness but have also inspired action and brought about positive change.

We have partnered with the Artemis Curepipe Hospital to raise awareness about breast cancer and support women’s health throughout the month of October. On Thursday, October 19, we gave 15 ladies complimentary mammograms in collaboration with Artemis Curepipe Hospital. The CANMA Association coordinated this impressive project with assistance from the Beau-Bassin/Rose-Hill Rotary Club. The event took place on World Breast Cancer Day, which was particularly significant in terms of timing.

Furthermore, we take great pride in having accomplished important turning points on our path to becoming a recognized NGO. We have been able to receive support and recognition from both local and worldwide communities because of our steadfast dedication and diligence. This acknowledgement is proof of the commitment and passion of our sponsors, volunteers, and team members.

We are hopeful and eager to see what 2024 brings as we look forward to the upcoming year. We’ll keep pushing for greatness, reaching a wider audience, changing more lives, and improving the lives of people in need in the upcoming year. By working together, we can bring about positive change and leave a lasting legacy of kindness.
