Women Empowering Women – FMCI USA

On Saturday, April 16th, FMCI USA participated in a Wellness Retreat exclusively dedicated to women in Columbus, Ohio. The theme of the retreat was “Women Empowering Women”. Dr. Sheereen Jaulim, Vice-Chairman of FMCI US, led a workshop on Cancer Awareness in the United States and Abroad. According to Dr. Jaulim’s observation, just before the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, cancer caused approximately 10 million deaths, or one in every six deaths, making it the world’s leading cause of death. Dr. Jaulim shared, “Many cancers are curable if they are diagnosed and treated early and efficiently.”

Dr. Jaulim shared a personal experience of losing a close friend to cancer and stated, “I am sure that many of us here have experienced the loss of a family member or friend.” When we receive such news, we miss precious moments, and a portion of our grins seems to go away. ”

Mrs. Noreen Palmer, FMCI USA Secretary, presented on leadership and highlighted examples of successful businesses that successfully guided the growth of their operations by aligning their values with leadership. Ms. Donielle Hall and her miniature horse “Bucky” presented a workshop on “Horses and Mindfulness.” “Bucky”, the miniature horse, was a surprise special guest and attended the event

Following the event, FMCI USA and “Bucky” participated in a mindfulness session with children. Equine therapy has been shown in studies to provide physical and psychological support to patients suffering from illnesses such as cancer.
